Frequently asked questions

Straight answers on speed, amounts, credit, security and what happens after you apply.

See if you qualify →No credit check to enquire
Does enquiring affect my credit score?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check is only discussed once you've chosen a specific option and decided to go ahead.

Will you send my details to lots of lenders?

No. One specialist reviews your situation and matches it deliberately. We don't spray your details across the market.

How fast can I get business funding in New Zealand?

It depends on the option. Same-day funding possible for smaller unsecured amounts. $20k to $250k possible same day (property-secured). Up to $5m possible within 24–48 hours. These are possible, never guaranteed — ready documents make the biggest difference.

How much can I borrow?

Property-secured business loans range from $20,000 to $5,000,000. Unsecured and cash-flow options for trading businesses typically range from $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements.

Why don't you publish interest rates?

Because every business loan is priced on the individual situation — the security, the term, the purpose and the business itself. A headline number would mislead more people than it helped.

Can I get funding with bad credit?

Possibly. Bad credit is considered case by case, and property security makes a big difference. Be upfront about what happened and what's changed.

Can I get a loan if I owe Inland Revenue?

IRD debt is considered case by case. Some lenders will fund to clear it, usually with property security. We'll also tell you if an instalment arrangement looks like the better route.

What's the difference between secured and unsecured?

Secured loans use property or an asset as security — larger, usually cheaper, more forgiving of credit issues. Unsecured loans are sized on turnover and usually need a personal guarantee. See our secured vs unsecured comparison for the detail.

Do I need financial statements?

Not always. Many fast options work from bank statements and/or property security instead of full financials. Banks usually do need them.

Can a new business get funding?

Unsecured options are hard without trading history. Property-secured loans and equipment finance are the most realistic fast routes for new businesses.

Can sole traders and self-employed people apply?

Yes. Lenders verify income from business bank statements and, where available, tax returns.

Is the money only for business purposes?

Yes. We arrange finance for business purposes only, not personal or household spending.

What documents will I need?

Photo ID for each director or owner, recent business bank statements, your NZBN or company number, property details if relevant, and a current Inland Revenue balance if you owe tax.

Can I use my home as security?

Yes, many owners do — often as a second mortgage behind the home loan. It's a big decision; everyone on the title must agree, and you should be clear on how the loan will be repaid.

What is a caveat loan?

A short-term loan where the lender lodges a caveat on a property title to protect its interest. It's among the fastest property-backed options, but usually more expensive and shorter than a registered mortgage.

Do you work with businesses across New Zealand?

Yes — from Northland to Southland. Tell us your region in the application.

What happens after I apply?

A specialist reads your application and calls you, usually within business hours on the same or next working day, with a shortlist of options that fit.

Why do you ask so many specific questions?

Because accurate answers on amount, purpose, timing and security let us match you to the right option the first time, without wasted applications or extra credit enquiries.
